THE DESIGN
 
 
The Outdoor Learning Center will will feature two classrooms, a science center, reading nook and spaces for children with sensory needs to work on their motor skills. Each area is designed for multi-purposes. Classrooms can be used for teacher-led learning, group discussions, independent work or  student presentations. 
 
At any given moment, it can support two classrooms at a time. Teachers and specialists will reserve a learning area using a check-out system.
 
 
 

Classroom #1 will accommodate a full class with built-in brick and bluestone wall seating over rubber tile flooring and a whiteboard to work out ideas or to solve problems.

Classroom #2 with Stage will accommodate a full class with movable bench seating under shade structures, a raised stage and rubber tile flooring. Classroom 1 can be used for student presentations, performances, music and strings practice, yoga, meditation and more.

Science Center will feature water tables to support a variety of activities. The wall will hold individual planters for each class to grow a plant and document its growth throughout the plant cycle.

Picnic Tables 

Reading Nook is a dedicated space for small group activities and discussions.

Sensory Wall holds a magnetic chalkboard wall for a range of activities. 

Traverse Wall feature 30' of horizontal climbing great for developing sensory skills.

New Paver Pathway
