NCHS Senior Internship Program

Support our Senior Internship Program: Host an Intern or Share a Lead!

The NCHS Senior Internship Program is a valuable opportunity that bridges between academic learning and real-world experience. This program allows students to develop essential skills, explore career paths, and build professional networks. Through their internships, students not only enhance their resumes but also gain the insights needed to thrive in future internships and careers.

How You Can Help: We are reaching out to our NCHS families and community members to assist us in connecting with potential host sites, including your own. We’re particularly looking to increase opportunities in areas of strong interest, including computer science, finance, healthcare sciences, and law. If you know of any businesses or organizations that might be interested in hosting an intern, or if your workplace could benefit from the support of an intern, please let us know!

Program Details:
• Dates: May 20th -June 13th (End date may extend pending snow days)
• Hours: Interns complete 25 hours per week. Typically, during school hours (8AM-2:30PM), unless other arrangements are made between the host and the intern.
• Unpaid: Students receive ¼ credit for their participation.
• Student Training: All students attend two mandatory training sessions at NCHS to prepare for the program.
• Student Matching: Students will be matched as closely as possible with an internship in their skill and interest areas to ensure a mutually beneficial experience. Each student completes an application, essay, and an interview with the SIP committee.
• Placement: In April, hosts receive an email with their intern’s name, followed by an introduction from the intern and their faculty mentor.
• Host Requirements: Approve students' weekly internship hours.

How to Get Involved: Online registration to host an intern is now open until November 1st.
Please contact Kelly DelMazio, Senior Internship Coordinator, at Kelly.delmazio@ncps-k12.org 203.594.4752 for more information.

By hosting a NCHS Senior Intern, hosts play a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of leaders while benefiting from interns’ fresh energy and perspective. Thank you for considering to host an intern or referring us to someone who may be interested!
