Ben Young All-Sports Camp
Camp Overview: The Ben Young All-Sports Camp is entering its 11th year, and there will be four separate, one week, 9 AM-12 PM sessions at New Canaan High School between 6/23-6/27, 6/30-7/4, 7/7-7/11, and 7/14-7/18. This camp is designed for students in (rising) grades K-8, but they do welcome all children turning five this calendar year, and the program strives to get children active in an inclusionary and positive environment where they can take part in fun sports and games. Activities vary from basketball, soccer, tennis, and baseball, to capture the flag, four-square, cornhole, relays, etc., and there are some water activities too. (Over twenty different sports/games will be played each week!) Also, this camp features an incredible crew of certified teachers and high school/college counselors that are all highly charismatic, mature, nurturing, and responsible, and they each genuinely enjoy being with children. (There are 4 certified teachers and over 100 students on staff!)
Background: Ben grew up in New Canaan, going through the public school system here, and graduated from Bucknell University, where he was a 2-year Co-Captain of their Division I tennis team. This is now Ben’s 17th year at Saxe, and he absolutely loves being a 7th grade language arts teacher and a member/advisor of numerous clubs and committees. Additionally, Ben is the proud Head Coach of the recent State Champion Boys Varsity Tennis Team.

Information on 3rd and 4th Grade New Canaan Youth Modified Flag Football
Did you know? New Canaan Youth Football offers a 3rd and 4th Grade Modified Flag Football program! Modified Flag Football, also known as Modified Tackle Football (MTF), is a non-tackle version of football played on a smaller field. Players wear full equipment (helmet, shoulder pads, and football pants) but use flag belts and tackles are made by pulling flags, not by physical contact…NO TACKLING. This modified version of flag football is designed to introduce younger players to the fundamentals of the game in a non-contact format. Modified Flag Football encourages multi-sport participation and players are welcome to play traditional Flag Football in tandem with Modified Flag Football, as well as play other fall sports. It's a great way for kids to build confidence, prepare for future levels of the sport and most importantly build friendships that last both on and off the field!
Registration opens April 1st! Please check out the NCYF website to register and for more details on the program. https://www.newcanaanyouthfootball.org/Default.aspx?tabid=1442077
